How Landscaping works at Whyte Gardens

You’ve made the decision.

You’ve entrusted us with your garden.

Now the question becomes, what happens next?

Landscaping is more than construction. It is the unfolding of an idea. The transformation of lines on paper into textures, light, depth, and life.

Let us walk you through the journey ahead.

Your Designer Remains Your Creative Guide

You’ve already shared your ideas, your aspirations, and the way you want to live in your garden. Together, we’ve shaped those conversations into a considered Master Plan.

Now, we begin bringing it to life.

As we often say, “Gardens evolve.”

While many hours have gone into refining your design, and our intention is always to honour that vision, the transition from paper to earth can reveal new opportunities.

Perhaps you step outside and see a garden bed taking form and think,
“That could be a little more generous.”

Or perhaps, as the space opens up, a view emerges we hadn’t anticipated.

One of the strengths of working with an integrated design and construction team is this: your designer remains involved throughout the landscaping phase.

They stay connected to the creative vision until the very last plant is placed.

You are never locked in.

Your garden is not something happening to you; it is something we are shaping with you.

The goal is simple:

When you stand in your finished garden, it should feel exactly right.

The Energy on Site

A garden coming to life is an active process.

Our landscape team, led by your Project Manager, coordinates the choreography behind the scenes, materials arriving, trades aligning, levels forming, and spaces emerging.

While your designer protects the vision, your Project Manager ensures momentum.

You may hear practical questions such as:

“On Thursday, we’ll be pouring concrete, and the pump truck will need access to the driveway. Is that suitable?”

These conversations are not interruptions; they are signs of movement.

Your Project Manager also liaises with all external specialists:

  • Electricians
  • Pool builders
  • Outdoor kitchen installers
  • Plumbers
  • Louvre pergola suppliers

Each plays their part at the right time, ensuring the garden unfolds in harmony.

While we carefully schedule every step, landscaping is a dynamic process. Occasionally, flexibility is required, but always with clear communication.

Permits & Progress

In most cases, approvals are secured before work begins.

However, sometimes permits take longer than expected.

When appropriate, we may begin certain elements while waiting for final approvals, maintaining momentum wherever possible, without compromising compliance.

Our responsibility is to move forward wisely.

The Day-to-Day Reality

Landscaping is transformative, and transformation is rarely silent.

There will be activity. There may be dust. There will certainly be change.

We aim to keep the site as orderly as possible, but it is a working environment.

If something sparks your curiosity or concern, speak with the Crew Leader. They can assist immediately or guide your question to the Project Manager or Designer.

If adjustments are requested during construction, we will always clarify implications before proceeding. Transparency protects both the vision and your investment.

Investment & Invoicing

Landscaping is an unfolding process, and the financial structure mirrors that progression.

An initial 5–10% commencement invoice is issued at the start, and this amount is progressively credited back across future invoices, leaving only a small balance at completion.

Invoices are typically issued:

  • When significant materials are ordered or delivered
  • As progress payments for work completed

Each invoice includes:

  • A clear breakdown of costs
  • A statement of payments made
  • The remaining balance

We believe financial clarity creates peace of mind.

You should always know where things stand.

Communication Is Everything

The most successful projects share one thing in common:

Open dialogue.

We will keep you informed throughout the journey.

And we encourage you to reach out whenever something is unclear, exciting, concerning, or inspiring.

Email is often the easiest way to document a discussion, though phone calls are welcome when nuance is needed.

A garden grows best when communication does too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if something doesn’t feel right?

Tell us.

Immediately.

Gardens are collaborative. Small misunderstandings can be resolved quickly when voiced early.

Clarity preserves confidence.

What guarantees do you offer?

We provide a 6-year workmanship guarantee.

Individual products carry their own warranties; lighting, pools, and specialist elements may vary between 1 and 5 years. We ensure these are clearly documented and understood.

Do you provide a handover?

Yes.

At completion, we provide:

  • A written garden care guide
  • A personal on-site walkthrough

This ensures you feel confident nurturing what we’ve created together.

In Closing

A garden is not simply installed.

It is revealed.

Layer by layer.
Detail by detail.
Decision by decision.

Our role is to guide, coordinate, refine, and protect the vision.

Your role is to remain engaged, curious, and collaborative.

Together, we will create something enduring.

And when the final plant settles into place, and the dust clears, your garden should not just look complete.

It should feel like it always belonged there.

We look forward to bringing your garden to life.
